New Ross, Aug 7 - Morgan Johnson, a prominent resident of this place died Sunday morning at 2 o'clock, following a stroke of paralysis Saturday night. He had been ill for three years. He had been engaged in the saw mill business the greater part of his life. Mr. Johnson was born in Walnut Township near New Ross on June 9, 1852. He married Nancy Johnson on Dec __ 1876. Seven children were born to this union, four of whom survive. The deceased came here from Waynetown 14 years ago and lived here ever since. Twenty_ years of his life were spent in Shannondale, where he operated a saw mill. For 7 years he owned an __ in Illinois. Mr. Johnson took an active interest in civic life. He was a member of the Odd Fellow and Rebekah lodges and active member of the Democratic party. He was a member of the New Ross Christian Church. The deceased is survived by the widow, four children, Clifford of Waynetown, Clay and Frank of New Ross and Mrs. Stella Youngs and __ grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the home in New Ross on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Another service and burial will take place at Pisgah. The services at Pisgah will take place at 3 o'clock. - kbz
